Making people look & feel good was always a passion. 5 years back I had imagined providing services similar to image consulting and had made up my business name, created brochures, business cards, etc. However the business never took off. I was too inexperienced for the services and hence had to abandon the idea and go back to my regular job.
That’s why when I heard of ICBI and the course; I knew my dream had come calling. It gave my desires exactly what it required – the formal training on technicals, the marketing support and most importantly a platform to hone my skills. During the training sessions, realized that even the smallest detail can make or break an outfit, that our bodies are not apples or pears, that clothing care, understanding about their texture is equally important and much more. The whole training was a revelation. The changes I saw in myself made me confident in everything – personally & professionally.
The various hats that I get to wear everyday makes me feel like a superstar. Trainer with ICBI, Corporate Stylist with Myntra, Fashion features writer for IndusLadies, Consultant to young women. Every single day so much new to learn and observe.
Being a trainer with ICBI, have personally observed so much improvement in me as an Image Consultant, and the adulations of the students gives a different kind of meaning in itself!
A major high is being a regular fashion features writer with Indus Ladies, it has kept my creative juices flowing – after all when an article is being viewed 10,000+ times, the mind gets a kick start on its own for the next write up.
Am currently conducting workshops for expat groups on dressing, grooming and etiquettes as per Indian culture. Doing that has given me a completely different level of realization about our culture as well as a group where image consulting services could so vastly contribute.
As Walt Disney said, “All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Pursuing one of mine and it feels so right.
