In the last few months, number of youngsters taking up Image Consulting as a career has shot up. It is not surprising as this is the hottest career of this decade. On closely interviewing some of these people who joined our courses as to the reasons they chose this career option, following were some of the most common points.
Not wanting to get stuck in a 9 to 5 job
Today’s youth does not want to get stuck in a 9 to 5 job. They want to achieve more in one life that they have. At the same time flexibility and freedom to work at their terms and time is most important. Image Consulting provides them that opportunity as they can be their own boss and be independent.
Earlier youngsters used to look at careers in fashion design largely to meet this objective. However over the period of time the realization has hit them that in fashion design it is actually very difficult to be on their own as it requires a large investment to open a boutique. Doing exhibitions from home is passé now and does not really attract consumers.
Varied options
Today’s youth value one thing more than anything else and that is to have multiple options at any time. Image Consulting gives them this much desired value. As an Image Consultant they can chose the client segment they want to work with, particular area of Image Consulting that they want to focus on like fashion styling, personal shopping, etiquette, grooming etc and the amount of time they want to devote.
It also gives them an option to take up a job if they wish in premium fashion, media & entertainment, aviation & hospitality etc.
Financial Independence
Independence in every walk of life is the main driving force for youth today. Image Consulting gives them financial independence by being able to free lance for a variety of things. At any stage if they want to get into it full time they can. Especially for girls one of the biggest worries that parents have is about the ability to achieve financial independence.
