From an 11 year career in fashion, through a career break to raise her children, to building a professional identity in Image Consulting.
Anshu had spent 11 years working as a Fashion Advisor before taking a career break to be with her children during their early years. When the time came to return to work, she knew she wanted to move beyond fashion alone.
She was looking for work through which she could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. One winter morning, while reading The Times of India with her husband, she came across an article about Image Management and its career possibilities. They registered for a presentation immediately.
Anshu remembers walking into her first class, seeing an impeccably dressed trainer and confident batchmates, and wondering whether she belonged there. Naturally shy, she had to push through her own hesitation simply to keep showing up.
Then came an assignment that required her to prepare presentations and speak before the group. Public speaking was exactly what frightened her. Repeated practice did not immediately remove the nervousness, but it brought her to a decision.
That choice became much bigger than one presentation. The woman who had questioned whether she belonged in the room began building the confidence to stand in front of people professionally.
After certification, Anshu began taking on individual consultations, training sessions, corporate workshops and personal shopping assignments. Her early journey also included leadership within the Image Management Professionals Association and the opportunity to work as an Image Consultant with Kanika Bali, Miss India Deaf 2011, who later became Second Runner Up Miss International Deaf 2012 and Miss Asia Deaf 2012.
What began as a return to work had become a new professional direction.
Anshu now works with individuals and organisations across a range of image consulting and development assignments. Her work includes individual image consulting, personal styling, corporate workshops, training interventions and specialised image assignments.
She is also a veteran trainer with ICBI and trains ICBI students on Image Management topics, bringing her professional experience directly into the classroom. Her journey has also taken her into leadership roles within the profession and into assignments connected with pageants, personal presentation and professional development.
What began as a return to work has grown into a varied professional practice built around helping people present themselves with greater confidence and impact.
