Years of Silent Suffering, One Panic Attack, and Rebuilding Life from Scratch – A Woman's Unstoppable Rise from the Ashes
A Shattered Childhood
From a young age, life tested me in ways I never imagined. My father wasn’t the hero others might expect. Instead, our home was filled with the trauma of domestic abuse, with my mother, my siblings, and me enduring it every night after he drank. When I lost him at 11 years old, it was a complex mix of emotions. What followed was even more difficult—my mother struggled financially to raise three children with no family support, and the weight of our circumstances was overwhelming.
Then, in 2017, tragedy struck again when I lost my brother to suicide. My world, already fragile, completely crumbled. I was left shattered, falling into a deep depression, unsure of how to navigate life anymore.
The Highs and Lows of Life in the Skies
On the outside, I was leading what many would consider a dream life. As a lead cabin crew member with Indigo, India’s top airline, I greeted passengers with a smile and ensured their comfort. But behind that smile, I was falling apart. The burden of my past was too heavy, and every night, I was haunted by anxiety attacks, unable to shake the fear of losing more loved ones.
The breaking point came when I found myself in the emergency room after a severe panic attack. It was clear—I couldn’t keep living like this. Something had to change. But I didn’t know where to start.
The Lifeline That Saved Me
That’s when I came across the Image Consulting Business Institute (ICBI). I didn’t join just to learn something new—I enrolled to rebuild myself, to rise from the ashes. I wanted to take control of my life, stop surviving, and start thriving.
Balancing my demanding job as a flight attendant while studying at ICBI was challenging. But thanks to the unwavering support from both my husband and ICBI, I made it through. My husband stood by my side, encouraging me to leave aviation and focus on my personal growth. ICBI was there for me every step of the way, accommodating my erratic schedule and supporting me mentally and emotionally. For the first time in years, I felt like I wasn’t fighting alone.
A Transformation from Within
As I progressed through the course, I began to see changes—not just on the outside, but deep within. The lessons from ICBI transformed me from someone hiding in the shadows of fear into a confident, empowered woman. My confidence grew with each passing day, and people around me started noticing the shift. I began to dress differently, communicate better, and carry myself with newfound strength. But the most important change was the one I saw in myself.
ICBI didn’t just teach me about image and soft skills; it taught me to understand who I am. I faced my fears head-on and worked relentlessly to overcome them. The shy, fearful girl who hid behind her trauma was now emerging as someone who could take on the world.
Paying It Forward
One of the most defining moments of my journey came when I met a client who was at her breaking point, much like I had been. She was ready to give up on life, overwhelmed by her struggles. It reminded me so much of my brother, and I knew I couldn’t let her go down the same path. I began working with her, offering pro bono sessions over several months. Slowly but surely, I saw her transform. She left the job that made her miserable, found happiness, and even got married. Today, we stay in touch, and every time I hear from her, I’m reminded of why I do what I do.
The Journey Continues
Today, I’m a corporate trainer, conducting sessions for organizations, government officials, professionals, students, and individuals across India. I’ve collaborated with multiple training companies and now coordinate trainers across the country. But my journey is far from over.
I’m in the process of launching my own company and brand, focusing on helping individuals on a personal level. I’ve witnessed the power of transformation firsthand, and I want to bring that to as many people as possible. I want to help those who feel lost, just as I once did, and guide them toward a brighter, more empowered future.
Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: No matter how deep the darkness, there’s always a sunrise. All you need is the courage to take the first step. And once you do, the possibilities are infinite.
This is my story, and I’m just getting started.
