About Vangala Jacob
With over 30 years of experience in English language education, communication training, and employability skills development, I am a Senior English Lecturer, Communication and Soft Skills Trainer, and Campus Recruitment Trainer dedicated to preparing students and young professionals for academic and professional success.
My passion lies in empowering learners with the communication skills, confidence, interpersonal abilities, and professional etiquette they need to thrive in today's competitive environment. I believe effective communication goes beyond speaking English fluently. It is about expressing ideas with clarity, listening with understanding, presenting oneself confidently, and building meaningful professional relationships.
My Training Expertise
Through my Campus Recruitment Training programmes, I have trained undergraduate students in a wide range of employability and workplace-readiness skills, including:
Communication & Language Skills: Spoken English, verbal ability, and effective communication.
Interview Preparation: Personal interviews, HR interviews, mock interviews, and recruitment readiness.
Group Discussions & Presentations: Articulating ideas, presenting confidently, and contributing effectively.
Personality & Professional Development: Body language, public speaking, interpersonal skills, and professional etiquette.
Workplace Readiness: Business and general etiquette, time management, and professional behaviour.
Career Preparation: Resume writing and understanding employer and recruitment expectations.
I also facilitate Versant training to strengthen spoken English proficiency and communication confidence. By working closely with placement officers and faculty members, I ensure that training programmes are aligned with industry expectations and campus recruitment requirements.
My Training Approach
I believe every learner has the potential to grow when provided with the right guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to practise.
My approach combines strong language foundations with practical, application-oriented learning. Through individual mentoring, interactive exercises, mock interviews, and structured practice, I help learners recognise their strengths, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable strategies for professional growth.
I place particular emphasis on personalised mentoring, ensuring that participants receive guidance relevant to their individual learning needs, confidence levels, and career aspirations.
Academic Experience & Qualifications
With qualifications in English Literature, Education, and Special Education, I bring a strong academic foundation and an inclusive, learner-centred perspective to my work.
My experience across schools, colleges, and diverse educational settings has helped me understand the different learning needs and challenges of students. Having also served as Head of the English Department, I have developed expertise in academic leadership, curriculum planning, faculty mentoring, and instructional development.
This combination of teaching experience, academic leadership, and professional training enables me to create learning environments that are structured, supportive, and focused on measurable learner development.
My Mission
My objective is to help learners become confident communicators, effective presenters, and workplace-ready professionals by combining strong English language skills with practical soft skills and employability training.
I strive to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace expectations, equipping students with the confidence and capabilities to navigate interviews, contribute effectively in professional environments, and build successful careers.
Because career readiness is not just about what you know; it is about how confidently you communicate, how effectively you connect, and how prepared you are to make your mark.
