Blast from the Past

After completing my Post Graduation in Mass Communication, I went on to pursue an internship with The Hindu. Post the internship, I got a job with an Infrastructure company in the Corporate Communications division. Being my first job, it gave me understanding of the workings of a company along with the practicality that is required in the field of Corporate Communications. But the opportunity to grow, in the organisation was limited.

Hence, I quit my job to join an Advertising and PR firm which was globally acclaimed. I got immense understanding about Media Relations, about organizing Press Conferences, making Press Releases etc. However, none of these jobs gave me satisfaction. Everything seemed very mechanical, since I wasn’t passionate about it.

I always wanted to train people as I believed that I am a people’s person and that I would be able to guide them and make them feel better about themselves. But I didn’t have the technical know-how on the same.

Then it all Changed

Quite sometime later, when I was dealing with a personal issue and was in a low phase of my life wondering where life would take me, a friend of mine introduced me to Image Management and I attended an orientation programme and decided that this was where I wanted to be. I took up a personal loan as I didn’t want to burden my parents, and I joined the course.

Just after finishing the course, being chosen by ICBI to start training at the Institute in Bangalore city was a huge privilege. I started training and I used to do back-to-back sessions in Bangalore and Chennai. I got tremendous exposure, interacting with so many different students. The biggest motivation was to see students trained by me progressing after undergoing the Image makeover on themselves!

Conquering New Horizons

After starting to practice as an Image Consultant, I have had many breakthroughs in life. I was a part of a team of Image Consultants that appeared on a reality show on Zoom TV, called “Image Banani Hai”, where we did an Image Makeover on 5 individuals who had contested from across the country.

I have also appeared on Radio Talk shows where I have spoken about myself and my career as an Image Consultant. I have been invited as a judge for inter collegiate fashion shows, as well for Pageant auditions.

I was also a panellist for Women of India Leadership Summit, where one of the talks was on self image and I shared the panel with journalists, artists etc. It was a brilliant experience to address audiences from different walks of life.

I have worked across different verticals and have trained CEO’s, CFO’s, VP’s of various companies to present themselves effectively.

My #MoreThanAPayCheque moment

When my client who is the VP of a global firm; post my consultations with him, was so overwhelmed with his image makeover, that he and his wife invited me over for dinner and also gifted me a book on the spiritual practice that I follow. That was one of the most fulfilling of the experiences I’ve had work wise.
